In Jou Oë

In Jou Oë is the debut album by Idols winner Dewald Louw.

His winning single “Idol” was very well received at radio and the current single, In Jou Oë, was submitted to radio on 13th November and has already been added to RSG high rotation playlist and is most definitely one of the hits on the album Dewald is touring extensively and has an incredible amount of show already booked for next year! The demand is huge! The album contains 12 Afrikaans songs, 9 brand new as well as the winning song “Idol” and two Afrikaans covers “Hoor Hoe Brom Die Wind” (Amanda Strydom) & “Ek Mis Jou So” (Anneli Van Rooyens) which helped him walk away with the crown.

Dai Ou Jou

DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou (怒首領蜂 大往生, DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou?) is the fourth game in Cave's DonPachi series. They are not connected by any story, but only by gameplay. It is considered to be a truer sequel to DoDonPachi than DoDonPachi II: Bee Storm. Dai Ou Jou is renowned for its almost ridiculous level of difficulty and refined gameplay. The "Dai Ou Jou" portion of the title translates as "peaceful death", which is a pun on how you die in the game.

Gameplay

Game System
The controls in Dai Ou Jou are identical to the previous games in the series. The joystick (or controller on the PS2 version) move the ship. Tapping button 1 fires standard shots, and holding button 1 fires the laser weapon. Pressing button 2 activates a hyper if one is available, or uses a bomb if no hypers are in stock. If the laser is active the bomb is an amplification of the laser weapon; otherwise it is an explosion that covers the screen. In all cases the player becomes invincible for a short period. There is also an option to enable button 3, which automatically fires only the standard shots, otherwise known as "auto(matic) fire".

Dai Ou Jou follows the conventions of the previous game with only a few changes. The chaining system is intact and works in much the same way. Causing an enemy to explode fills a meter, and every enemy destroyed before the meter depletes adds to the current chain and again refills the meter. Holding the laser weapon over a large enemy will hold the meter steady and slowly accumulate hits. In this way it is possible to create a single chain out of any of the 5 stages, although this requires much practice and skill.

New is the addition of "hyper" items. A hyper meter is incorporated into the upper-left status display and is filled by chaining, collecting bees, and dying, amongst other things. When the meter fills a hyper items falls from the top of the screen, unless the player is currently in a boss fight. Up to 5 hypers can be held at any one time. When a hyper is activated, all are used at once, with an effect proportional to the amount of hypers consumed (duration and power are both affected). A hyper makes the player invincible for a short while and amplifies the power of both normal fire and the laser weapon. Once the timer runs out the player's ship returns to normal. As a side effect, all enemy bullets move faster when the hyper is activated, increasing the "RANK" difficulty level of the game, until a bomb is used or you die. This effect does not disappear when the hyper wears off. Using a bomb during a hyper will end it immediately; dying will cause the player to lose any hypers he or she is carrying. Using a hyper while one is on screen (i.e. not collected yet) will transform it into a large star.

Dai Ou Jou has also been made much more difficult than the previous games in the series.

Player Ships
The ship selection has completely changed from the previous game. The three ships from DoDonPachi have been reduced to two, the Type A and Type B. Type A is equivalent to the Type A from DoDonPachi, while Type B is equivalent to the old Type C. Once a ship is selected, an Element Doll is also chosen, similar to the selection of Shot Type or Laser Type in its predecessor. The first doll, Shotia, powers up the ship's standard shots. The second, Leinyan, powers up the ship's laser weapon and slows down the ship less while the laser is activated, at the cost of a lower stock of bombs compared to Shotia. The final choice is Exy, which upgrades both the Shot and Laser, but is offset by an even lower bomb capacity. Upon dying, the power level is reduced by one, while the other weapon is reduced to its initial strength; in the case of Exy, both weapons only lose one power level.

Levels
Dai Ou Jou has 5 levels, and a second loop is available if the player manages to complete the first loop and satisfy certain criteria. The requirements are any one of:

Less than 2 deaths
Less than 3 bombs used
Collecting all 10 bees in at least 3 stages. The bees in each level must be collected without dying.
If the player then succeeds in completing the second loop, they face the true final boss of the game, Hibachi.
Variants

Death Label
Death Label was included with the PS2 port of Dai Ou Jou. Death Label sets the player against each of the game's bosses in order, with maximum power at all times and a full stock of hypers provided before each fight. Death Label's difficulty is roughly equivalent to that of the normal game's second loop, with a number of alterations made to the bosses and their attack pattern. The most notable change is made at the end of Death Label, where the player fights two versions of the final boss simultaneously.

Black Label
This variant was a limited edition release and was never ported. There were minor changes to gameplay

Ik Hou Van Jou

Ik Hou Van Jou (English translation: "I Love You") was the Dutch entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1984, performed in Dutch by Maribelle.

The song is a simple love ballad. Maribelle sings that she simply cannot live without her lover, who appears from subsequent lyrics to have left her some time ago as she pleads with him to return and make her life meaningful again.

Musically, the song represented a move away from the up-tempo pop beginning to predominate. Maribelle performed solo and without any movement at all.

The song went into the Contest as a warm favourite. It was performed eleventh on the night (following Denmark's Hot Eyes with Det' Lige Det and preceding Yugoslavia's Izolda & Vlado with Ciao Amore). At the close of voting, it had received 34 points, placing 13th in a field of 19.

Despite the poor placing, the song has become a fan favourite, appearing as one of the non-winning "classics" on the double-CD and double-DVD sets produced to coincide with the Congratulations special of late 2005.

It has also achieved fame by being covered by other performers, Cilla Black among them.

The Netherlands opted out of the 1985 Contest, as the date coincided with the Remembrance of the Dead commemmoration. The country did, however, return to the fold at the next Contest. Thus, the song was succeeded as Dutch representative at the 1986 Contest by Frizzle Sizzle with Alles Heeft Ritme.

Jou Sensei

Tale of Young Grass: Nan and Miss Jo (若草物語ナンとジョー先生, Wakakusa Monogatari Nan to Jou Sensei?) is a Japanese anime series produced by Nippon Animation in 1993 and was broadcasted as part of the World Masterpiece Theater, an animation staple that showcased each year an animated version of a different classical book or story. The series is based on the 1871 novel Little Men by Louisa May Alcott, which is a sequel to her famous novel Little Women. Previously Little Women was also adapted into a World Masterpiece Theater anime series under the name Ai no Wakakusa Monogatari.

Story

Japanese DVD coverJosephine March has grown into womanhood about ten years since "Little Women" and is now married to the German Professor, Friedrich Bhaer. In the Plumfield farm-house that Aunt March had left her, Jo Bhaer has stablished a new school for her two sons, Robby and Teddy, nephews and a gang of orphaned children including Nan Harding and a rough, street-wise adolescent named Dan. With the experience of a model childhood and a faithful and caring husband, Jo guides her pupils in their young lives; with song, music and play, the children are led through the joys and sorrows of life, work and play, rewards and punishments, getting involved in all sorts of mischief and adventure.

Distribution
While Ai no Wakakusa Monogatari was dubbed in English, this series was not released in any English-speaking countries. In Europe, however, both series were dubbed, so children were able to make connections. In Japan Wakakusa Monogatari Nan to Jou Sensei was first shown on the 17th January 1993 and ran until the 19th December. Just one year later the series was released in Italy.

Jou Maya

It's 2200, according to the Western calender and our story begins with a 16-year old boy named Jou Maya.

One day, Jou, who lives on Mars, witnesses a battle between aliens. Those from Planet Zabuum are attacking the Princess of Planet Radrio; she has escaped from the emperor of Zabuum who is scheming to conquer the universe and has crash landed on Mars. Jou, along with his friends Mike and Reni, must protect the Planet Radrio with three ninja robots... but he has trouble waiting for him in more ways than one!

After meeting up with Princess Romina, an astonishingly beautiful girl around his age, Jou decides to join her crusade. He actually stumbles aboard the Princess's ship and this starts a chain reaction of events that will alter their lives forever.

During the battles, when all hope seems to be lost, a mysterious living machine resembling an armored Ninja named Tobikage {"Soaring Shadow"} appears as if from nowhere to provide assistance, able to combine with the three mechanical beasts. This provides Tobikage with unmatched power and with his aide, Jou fights the forces of Zabuum.

After a complicated series of events, the series ends in an explosive and dramatic manner. Joe had been previously captured by Annex and ends up on his giant spaceship. In the act of escaping, he comes across Icelander who had betrayed the Princess and left early in the series. Our heroes bring the ship down but Joe and Islander are too busy fighting each other within the ship to escape and there is a monumental explosion at the end of the penultimate episode which convinces the crowd that all have been killed within, including Icelander and Joe.while joe commands the cybertron icelander has the equally powerful mantis .

In the last episode, it turns out both Icelander and Joe have survived along with the Sun and Moon Gods, Cybertron and the Mantis. The only catch is Hazard, who escaped the ship on his own has captured them all. He also manages to catch Jenny for ransom who looks through the debris for Joe, finding him unconscious but also Hazard too. Meanwhile, the Princess finds a microfilm inside of her very own crown on which contains information on how the two Gods, The Mantis and Cybertron, will merge with the Xenos Five to create a new, Phoenix-like super-machine. That explains why Hazard issues a demand for the ship and the machines within it in exchange for Jenny and Joe.

A cocky Hazard ends up losing Joe and Jenny after they escape with Cybertron. Icelander too escapes with the Mantis the go on his own personal vendetta against Joe calling him out just as he settles back in the Xenos Five. Against the wills of Jenny and the Princess, both of which seemingly in love with him, Joe goes out to confront Icelander on the wing of the Xenos Five. The crew and an emotional Princess look on.

A now annoyed Hazard looks on and activates his own weapon in an attempt to destroy the two "punks" much to the shock of the crew of the Xenos Five. Both, however, survive but Icelander is critically injured. Joe continues to prevent Hazard from destroying Xenos Five by destroying his ship by finely placing Cybertron's ninja sword.

With all enemies now vanquished, it only left Icelander who was taken inside the ship. He is saying his final words before Joe, again, confronts him demanding him to live and continue their fight. Icelander refuses but before he dies, he holds the hand of Joe causing the Moon and Sun Gods to unite as the previously mentioned microfilm suggested would happen. Hence, also the propchecy was also becoming complete. The crew look on in shock as the Gods merge together and then with the ship. The whole ship goes into a state of transformation, starting with the exterior smoking and turning into a gold colour. The ship then boosts off into the distance towards the "Black Star System".

It was said that Earth was saved but the fight for Andromeda was yet to end.

Characters
Jō Maya (ジョウ・マヤ, Jō Maya? Seiyū: Kazuhiko Inoue)
18 year old Jou (or Joe) is all all about boisterousness and defiance. He believes in doing the right thing no matter what the consequence. He lost his mother when he was very young and though he never told anyone about it, he often thought about her. In fact, he's not the type of person for whom feelings are up for discussion. He's pretty much a closed book when it comes to his feelings, unless it's his scorn for something or someone. Jou is one of the Ninja Warriors who is armed with a Ninja Senshi; he at first fights inside the lion beast mecha "Kuro-Jishi" {"Dark Leo"/"Black Leo"}, he later merges with Tobikage (Cybertron)himself. Joe has a boiling animosity with Irubora Saro right from the beginning, particularly due to the former's constant flirting with the Princess.
His best friend during childhood was Ronin Sonada and though they grew into completely different individuals, they cherish their friendship. Among his other childhood friends, there is Mike and Reny Ai. In the very first episode, Jou goes hunting with a couple of guys, one of who has a crush on Reny. Once he discovers this, Jou grabs the opportunity to tease her and guffaw with his friends. Though Jou can waver from blatantly rude to grimly hostile, he does (though he'd rather kill himself than admit it) have a soft corner for his friends. Jou treats Reny like dirt most of the time but reveals at the end of the series that he "digs" her.

With the rising popularity of commercial MMORPG games came the desire from ardent players of these games to run their own servers beside the ones run by the game's creator. Since the original server software is not usually available, the behavior of the server has to be re-engineered. This can be done by analyzing the data stream with the original server, or by disassembling and analyzing the client which is available.

Ultima Online was one of the first large MMORPGs. Due to its openness in implementation, server emulators arose very quickly, even during the beta stage of development. The destination to which the client connects was changeable by simply editing a text file. In beta stage the client-server data stream was not encrypted yet. The term server emulator became known through Ultima Online server reimplementation such as UOX, which was the pioneer. Many forks and reimplementations followed UOX, because its source code was released under the GNU General Public License relatively early. RunUO is today the most widely used UO-server emulator. After RuneScape implemented anti-cheating measures, many gamers left and started their own private servers. The best place to discuss the private server is at Trik- The Master of Private Server.
